Welcome to LEAD, a Coalition of Essential Schools (CES) affiliated center. We are part of a national network of schools, school districts, and centers engaged in fostering schools that expect all students to use their minds and hearts well.
We envision a world in which resiliency is fostered for all youth so that all youth receive the nurturance, guidance, and resources they need to reach their fullest potential.
Our mission is to build the leadership capacity of school leaders, support their efforts to create and sustain equitable, intellectually vibrant, personalized schools, and make such schools the norm of American public education.
What we know
Students learn best when they are known well, when expectations are high and support is focused and purposeful, and when their voices and the voices of their parents are valued.
Teachers teach best when they are known well, when expectations are high and support is focused and purposeful, and when their voices are valued.
Schools work best when these conditions are in place for students, parents and educators. These conditions are far easier to implement and sustain in quality small schools of focus than in comprehensive schools.
The LEAD Center is an approved California District Assistance and Intervention Team (DAIT) provider.
